Adriana & Lorena
20 years of combined experience
OUR STORY
We are Adriana and Lorena, co-founders of Altruistic Leadership. We are Mexican- American women who were born, raised and educated in the inner cities of Los Angeles. We were raised by female pioneers who exemplify resilience, hard work, and familism. Our core values mirror the teachings of our mothers who lead each day with kindness, integrity, and honesty.
We founded Altruistic Leadership in 2018 while completing our graduate programs. We became first-generation graduates with a Masters in Social Work and Public Administration from the University of Southern California (USC). This experience came with much more than insurmountable debt; it challenged our leadership and allowed us to address local and statewide disparities using and honoring the spirit of Troy: Ambitious, Courageous, Skillful, Scholarly, and Faithful. We consider ourselves non-traditional, innovative, and lighthearted leaders who can joke about their ridiculous educational debt on a slow Friday afternoon.
We met over ten years ago and bonded over our love for the field and community. We knew our mission was to empower marginalized individuals of all abilities and their families by offering culturally sensitive services and a platform where each individual can exercise the power of their voice. Our goal is to narrow service gaps that disproportionately exclude and limit opportunities for individuals of color statewide. This is more than a job; it is our commitment to you. It's simple--we do what we do because we see and hear you!
Stay Kind,
